Anti Phospholipid IgG & IgM
₹2,000
The anti-phospholipid IgG and IgM test detects autoantibodies against phospholipids that increase the risk of abnormal blood clotting. Testing both antibodies improves diagnostic accuracy.
A normal result is negative, typically below 10–20 GPL/MPL U/mL, varying by lab.
Positive results suggest antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), which causes recurrent miscarriages, DVT, pulmonary embolism, and stroke at a young age. IgG is more strongly linked to clotting risk, while IgM may appear early or temporarily, for example after infections.
Diagnosis requires persistent positivity on two tests at least 12 weeks apart.
You should get an anti-phospholipid IgG and IgM test if you have recurrent miscarriages, unexplained blood clots (DVT or pulmonary embolism), or a stroke at a young age. It is also recommended for people with lupus (SLE) or other autoimmune diseases, low platelets or a prolonged aPTT, and before planning pregnancy after previous losses.
No special preparation or fasting is required for an anti-phospholipid IgG and IgM test. Inform your doctor about any blood thinners (don't stop them without advice), recent infections, blood clots, or pregnancy, since temporary infections can cause false-positive results, especially for IgM. A repeat test after 12 weeks may be needed to confirm positive results.
No, fasting is not required for an anti-phospholipid IgG and IgM test. You can eat and drink normally before giving your sample. Inform your doctor about any blood thinners, recent infections, or pregnancy, as these may affect interpretation. Don't stop any prescribed medicine without your doctor's advice.
